the start of something (else) new
Unless you've been reading my blog since the very beginning, you might not know that the "I.E." in my blog name actually stands for something. (Or you might know this already if you've read my about page, haha.) These two letters in my blog name, besides making the last two letters in my name (a nice bit of symmetry there, eh), or being some obscure Latin abbreviation, stand for "inspired" and "experimental". That's basically the spirit of what I want to achieve with this blog and how I want to approach life.
Inspired, as in being driven to create something beautiful or valuable--for me this is almost kind of existential. Experimental, as in the courage to be willing to try new things or simply to just do it, whatever "it" may be.
With that, I'd like to announce yet another new endeavour:
I.E. Jessie goes to Youtube!
Seeing as I spend so much of my waking hours consuming Youtube and video content, I thought it was high time to just jump into it and start making something of my own. This is an idea I've toyed with for a while and while I've wanted to do it, I've never "got around to it". Well, now I have! Here's to more crazy adventurous creative happenings in the future.
My channel will be kind of an exploration of my life and interests--kind of like this blog--but in video format. So far, I've been really enjoying challenging myself and learning how to shoot, film, and edit. It's also really gratifying to see your ideas come together in a more visceral form. I've created two videos on there already--a vlog, and an everyday makeup routine!
